Kantorei opens its 2010-2011 concert season with a collection of contemplative choral works. Polish composer Jozef Swider's radiant Cantus Gloriosus, intricate and energetic, highlights the evening.
Also featured is Requiescat from composer Eric William Barnum. A former composer-in-residence for Kantorei, Barnum sets the Oscar Wilde 'Requiescat' text in a beautiful setting for mixed chorus and semi chorus.
Kantorei closes the evening with a set of folk songs and spirituals, including Moses Hogan's Abide With Me and Carol Barnett's My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord.
