A Night in Havana takes us back to the 1950's when Miami was only a short plane ride away from this tropical oasis. This year we revive the music, dancing, spirits, gambling and all around passion that made Havana Cuba's most desirable destination.

We're are thrilled to be honoring the Miami Foundation and Josue Santiago as the recipients of our Rainbow Circle Awards for their unparalleled commitment to LGBTQ youth and to Pridelines Youth Services.

We look forward to your company as we enjoy another fabulous celebratory evening.

Josue Santiago
Former Board Chair and Youth Member

Josue joined Pridelines Youth Services in April 2000.  As a youth member, he became an active volunteer and was chosen to be the very first “Youth Liaison” to the board of directors.  He also took on the role of youth chair of the GLBTQ prom for two years.  Under his leadership, the prom became more youth driven as he established committees and empowered them to take active roles in the decision making process.  The first year attracted more than 500 prom goers! The second attracted over 700 and it remains the largest attended youth prom to date!

His involvement in Pridelines opened the doors for him to work with other organizations including Safe Schools South Florida, Equality Florida and Save Dade.  For his accomplishments, in November of 2002 he was honored as an Outstanding Young Leader by the Greater Miami chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Dade Community Foundation, Donors Forum of South Florida, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Miami-Dade.

Josue served as Chairman of the Board of Pridelines Youth Services from 2003 through 2005.  Along with the staff, board members and donors of the time, he led the organization through challenging times and helped prevent the closing of its doors.  It was also during this time that Josue worked closely with a consortium of youth organizations to help found the “Alliance of GLBTQ Youth” as a means to provide complete services to the GLBTQ youth of South Florida.
