Decatur Community Players (DCP) is excited to offer three summer camp sessions this year. All of our camps run Monday thru Friday, 9 AM - 4 PM. At this time, we do not offer before or after care. Please visit our website for general camp rules and information. Each camper needs to bring a water bottle, lunch and a snack.

Camp Descriptions:

 Session 1: June 2 - 6 - Jungle Book

A play in a week featuring Jungle Book. The jungle is jumpin’ with jazz in Disney’s THE JUNGLE BOOK KIDS. Specially adapted from the classic film, this musical includes favorite Disney tunes, like “The Bare Necessities,” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.” In one week, campers will create sets and props, assemble costumes, learn great songs and choreography, and play wonderful characters. On the last day of camp there is a performance for family and friends.

 Session 2: June 23 - 27 - Prep for Junior Theater Festival*

Get a jump start on next year's Junior Theater Festival and auditions for Xanadu with this new summer camp program.  At JTF 2015 we will be performing an excerpt from Xanadu. Start learning the music, story line, and help develop new choreography at this camp, as well as vocal training, acting techniques and roller skating (for those interested in one of the skating parts).

Session 3: July 14 -18 - Create Your Own Play

Want to see your own work up on the stage? Want to design costumes or choreography? Ever wonder what it takes to put the whole thing together? Then this session is for you! Students learn collaborative techniques as they write, direct and perform a completely original play together. Wacky, wonderful and the sky's the limit. Great for team building! At the end of the week, students bring their play to life in a performance for family and friends.
