WHO WE ARE The 24 Group is a nonprofit group that educates the public about the effects of substance abuse on families. Through its fundraising events like Hawk Walk, The 24 Group awards grants to Indiana organizations that facilitate recovery from the disease of addiction. Come join us for a day of fun with friends and good exercise for a good cause.
OUR MISSION We believe that those touched by addiction in adolescence and young adulthood deserve support and advocacy. Because current resources are inadequate, The 24 Group exists to provide a means for those in need of addiction education and recovery support.
WHY HAWK WALK The 24 Group was named in memory of David Manlove, the son of two founding board members, who died at the age of 16 from the disease of addiction. After David’s death, the Manlove’s chose the symbol of a hawk to represent their son. In Native American tradition, hawks are messengers that soar between heaven and earth. They help to open our eyes to a vision of a better and brighter future. The Hawk Walk: First Steps to Recovery is David’s message of hope for a brighter future for those struggling with the disease of addiction.
