Don't miss the 3rd Annual Dust or Magic AppFest -- A place where children's app publishers and reviewers -- and their children -- can come to freely share new ideas and try out each other's products.
Saturday, May 21, 2016 — The Third Annual Pre-AppCamp Children’s AppFest
Cost: $Free for Dust or Magic Attendees; $12 per adult for non-AppCamp attendees (money is used for snacks). Children free.
Dust or Magic Children’s AppFest will go for about 3 hours.
Children's AppFest was formed as a cooperative effort between several groups with a strong interest in children and technology, including the SVKAG (Silicon Valley Kids Apps Group), Moms With Apps, Co.Lab and Children's Technology Review / Dust or Magic. Many people worked to make this happen, especially Josh Garratt, Gabriel Adauto, Esteban Sosnik, Randy Weiner and Lorraine Akemann.

IDEAL FOR REVIEWERS, PUBLISHERS ... AND CHILDREN
AppFest is the affordable warm up act for the Dust or Magic AppCamp, to be held in Monterey at the Asilomar Conference Center on Sunday, May 22.
HOW IT WORKS People are divided into two categories: Demo Givers and Demo Takers.
Demo Givers take a balloon, write the name of an app title on the balloon and put out a tablet. (You might want to have business cards or a one page handout with some free download codes, so people can learn more about your work after the event). This is an excellent place to get discovered, as several of the Dust or Magic speakers will be Demo Takers. Children will also be onhand.
People (and kids) who want to get a demo will look for balloons. We’ll have snacks for the kids and adults. Parents are responsible for their kids. We'll avoid peanuts or nuts; let us know if there are any other special needs regarding diet. We'll try.
NOTE Overt selling is not permitted -- this is about sharing and testing, not about selling and promoting. There will be a marked "swag" table for flyers or PR materials.
SPEAKERS AND DEMOS
During the event, there will be demos being run in the "fishbowl" -- You can sign up for a 5 minute spot using the whiteboard-- demos will be conducted with Q/A on a first come, first served basis.
WE CONCLUDE AT 6 PM and head to Dust or Magic AppCamp at Asilomar in Monterey. AppCamp starts at 4 PM the next day (Sunday). Learn more about Dust or Magic AppCamp.
Admission is free to Dust or Magic AppCamp participants. The fee is $12/person to cover snacks snacks; children are free. Space is limited to 80 on a first-come, first-served basis.
