Abstract: This tutorial will first introduce big data and some of the related challenges. Then, we will present the main data analysis methods and the context in which they can be applied. We will present some examples of how methods can be combined in order to mine information and extract advanced information from texts.
Outline of the contents:
- Introduction (definitions, VVV, challenges, obstacles)
- Methods for data mining: types of data, data analysis methods and visual clustering, clustering methods, SVM, feature selection
- Illustrative examples (e.g. patent analysis using Tétralogie platform, R), detection of weak signals, science monitoring,
