Do you find it difficult to incorporate raw foods in your diet when it’s cold outside & all you want is something to warm you inside? Frigid temperatures don’t mean you have to live on all cooked or processed foods. In this class, Deb Klungle of Nourished Body will explain various ways to heat raw food while still maintaining its enzymes & nutrients. She will also teach you to make some satisfying seasonal favorites...
Everyone loves soup in the winter, but there's no need to open a can or a box for a quick & easy bowl. Deb will show you how to whip up a basic raw tomato soup that can be seasoned & spiced to suit any taste (lots of ideas are provided on the recipe sheet). Raw soups don't have to be vegetables just pureed in a blender to heat them up either. They can be chunky, too, so she will also make one of her all-time favorites - a brothy Thai curry soup loaded with chopped vegetables (she's always trying to sneak those greens in!). Then she will teach you how to prepare a batch of chili that is super easy & totally yummy, you’ll never take the time to simmer the traditional version on the stove for hours again. We'll even whip up a sour cream topping for it!
To wrap up the class, Deb will show you how to make one of her popular sweet (but low-glycemic!) treats. While raw foodies often drink herbal teas to combat the cold, sometimes it's nice to have something rich & creamy. So she will blend up a frothy hot chocolate that rivals the drinks made by even the best barista at your local coffee house.
COST: $29
NOTE: All foods prepared in this class are raw, vegan & completely free of dairy, egg, gluten, corn, soy & peanuts. The recipes designed for this class are low-glycemic & appropriate for most diabetics & cancer patients.
So come to class & learn how simple, nutritious & delicious it can be to make fresh raw foods that will satisfy you even in this chilly Michigan-winter weather!

OUR PHILOSOPHY:
SIMPLE, NUTRITIOUS, DELICIOUS
Our classes teach you how to prepare plant-based dishes, both raw & cooked, that are quick & easy so even busy people with no kitchen experience can make every day. Our recipes also call for ingredients that can be found in any local health food store & most grocery stores. No special ordering of expensive exotic foods required.
We focus on nutrient-dense whole foods that will nourish your body to keep you healthy & give you the energy to get through the day. And we want you to put the best foods available in your body so only organic ingredients are used whenever possible.
But really, it's all about the taste! Eating is an experience that should be enjoyed! We know you won't eat something if you don't like it, no matter how good it is for you. So we make sure our recipes are not just healthy, but satisfying & full of flavor, too.
THERE ARE SO MANY FREE RECIPES ONLINE. WHY TAKE A CLASS?
Yes, you can find plenty of recipes online & videos on YouTube - all for free. But Nourished Body classes are not just about the food; they are about the education. We can teach you more in 1-2 hours than what you might find surfing the internet for an entire day because we have already done the reading & have the experience. A live class provides an opportunity for you to interact with a real person, & ask questions & get practical answers that help you follow a healthy lifestyle every day. We also explain why some things are healthy & others are not. And of course, you also get to try the food to see if you like it before you spend a lot of money on a complicated recipe that calls for ingredients you've never even heard of.
Nourished Body classes are also about community. Attending a class makes you part of a group of like-minded people who are there to support you & your healthy lifestyle. We always have lively discussions about various topics (not always food-related), & many participants share their knowledge & experience so you get to learn from them as well.
