Abstract: With the development of cloud computing, hosting infrastructures are spreading very fast. Resource management in such infrastructures is a major challenge. Resources should be allocated to clients as requested, but saved as much as possible to reduce costs. In this vein, we present two research works from the Sepia team at IRIT Toulouse. These works cover dynamic processor frequency scaling, server consolidation and dynamic scalability in multi-tier applications.
Presenter: Mr. Daniel Hagimont is a Professor at Polytechnic National Institute of Toulouse, France and a member of the IRIT laboratory, where he leads a group working on operating systems, distributed systems and middleware. He received a PhD from Polytechnic National Institute of Grenoble, France in 1993. After a postdoctorate at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada in 1994, he joined INRIA Grenoble in 1995. He took his position of Professor in Toulouse in 2005.
Please be aware that the number of participants is limited.
The tutorial is orginized within the INARMERA-ICT (Integrating Armenia into ERA: Information and and Communication Technologies) Project funded by the EU Seventh Framework Programme.
