SUNDAY, April 12th: 10am - 12pm

As a Buddhist practitioner, it is important not only to receive instruction on meditation technique, but also the Buddhist view. Lama Jampa Thaye, who's teaching style is at once very clear and structured without losing the profound depth of the topic, will provide an introduction into the philosophical school of Shentong Madhyamaka, which falls within the Mahayana teachings on Emptiness. The true nature of mind is empty of relative and confused states such as afflicting emotions and ego clinging. The true and unborn nature of mind is like space; it is the ground upon which conflicting states appear, but it is not stained and cannot be changed by these confused and obscured states of mind. Just as space can never be affected by whatever appears in it, likewise the true nature of the mind is free of what appears in it. This is the essence of Shentong Madhyamaka.
Suggested donation (Standard covers program costs, Sustainer provides extra support to the center and program):
Single sessions: $40 Standard, $50 Sustainer.
Two sessions - e.g. all day Saturday or all day Sunday: $65 Standard, $85 Sustainer.
Full weekend: $105 Standard, $145 Sustainer.
All fees support the costs of the program, and delivery permitting, a copy of Lama Jampa Thaye's book "Introduction to the Common and Uncommon Madhyamaka Systems."
Participants have the opportunity to make voluntary offerings to Lama Jampa Thaye to support his tireless activities to benefit all sentient beings.
- All are welcome. No one turned away for lack of funds.
- Please consider an additional donation of $5, $15, $100 or more to sustain Bodhi Path San Luis Obispo and its activities.
