APRIL 29 - MAY 3, 2015
WEEKEND BREATHING YOGA PROGRAM:
SATURDAY, May 2nd: 9am - 12pm
SUNDAY, May 3rd: 9am - 12pm
PUBLIC TALKS:
WEDNESDAY, April 29th: 7pm - 9pm at Bodhi Path Center - His life with Rinpoche
FRIDAY, May 1st: 7pm - 9pm at Smiling Dog Yoga - Breathing Yoga
SATURDAY, May 2nd: 2pm - 4pm at Smiling Dog Yoga - Breathing Yoga
Chumba will be in SLO April 27–May 3, providing public talks about Tibetan Breathing yoga, his projects in the Himalayas, and his time with Shamar Rinpoche (founder of the Bodhi Path Buddhist Centers), culminating in a weekend program instructing us in breathing yoga. He will teach five breathing techniques, enriched with basic wisdom for how to improve our own health and happiness. Organs are cleansed, blood is refreshed, and mind will be more calm and relaxed through these exercises.
Everybody can participate. This class has less stretching and more breathing exercises than most yoga programs.
Plan to arrive on an empty stomach in the morning, drinking only hot water. Wear loose comfortable clothing. Water will be provided, but it won’t hurt to bring extra. Please bring yoga mats and/or meditation cushions. We will have a few mats available for rent, and 12 cushions. Chairs will be available.
Suggested donation (Standard covers program costs, Sustainer provides extra support to the center and program):
1 Day Session: $60 Standard, $80 Sustainer.
Full Weekend: $100 Standard, $140 Sustainer.
Participants have the opportunity to make voluntary offerings to Chumba to support his tireless activities to benefit all sentient beings.
- All are welcome. No one turned away for lack of funds.
- Please consider an additional donation of $5, $15, $100 or more to sustain Bodhi Path San Luis Obispo and its activities.
Born high in the Tsum Valley of Tibet, Chumba was brought to Kathmandu by an uncle who subsequently died. Chumba lived on the streets until a monk from nearby Swoyambhu brought him to his monastery. He later travelled with Shamar Rinpoche, as his servant. In 2003, Chumba moved to Germany and today he teaches Tibetan yoga internationally, guides travel groups, and is a massage therapist.

We all share a desire to be happy and free from suffering, but this goal seems to elude us much of the time. Located in San Luis Obispo, the Bodhi Path Buddhist Center welcomes everyone interested in the Buddhist path to true happiness. We provide opportunities to learn and practice meditation and to study and discuss teachings from a progressive Buddhist curriculum.
