June 12 - June 14, 2015
Join us for this simple, but profound exploration of mindfulness. This is an opportunity to experience the world more directly, and to connect more fully with the wondrous, creative nature of our mind.
We will use Chinese brush and bamboo pen to study how breath gives life to art. The workshops will be led by Dharma Teacher Kunkyab.
* No prior art training is necessary. All art supplies will be provided.
FRIDAY, June 12: 11am - 2pm at Nybek Wing of the SLO Museum of Art
In this workshop we will explore meditative calligraphy in pursuit of the goal: A calm, attentive mind capable of contemplating itself and making possible the discovery of the innermost essence of mind.
FREE PUBLIC TALK:
FRIDAY, June 12: 7pm - 9pm at Smiling Dog Yoga
Kunkab will provide an overview of art as a meditative process, art in the Dharma, and if time, his work with traditional Tibetan Thankgas.
COMPASSION IN ACTION:
SATURDAY, June 13: 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 5pm
SUNDAY, June 14: 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 5pm
* Saturday & Sunday Pot Luck Vegetarian Lunch, Bring Something to Share
Focusing on the Chenrezig mantra, we will explore meditative calligraphy in pursuit of a calm, attentive mind capable of contemplating itself. Teaching will include the origin of Sanskrit and Tibetan characters, the idea of a seed syllable, and a little history. We will also engage in sitting meditation.

Located in San Luis Obispo, the Bodhi Path Buddhist Center welcomes everyone interested in the Buddhist path to true happiness. We provide opportunities to learn and practice meditation and to study and discuss teachings from a progressive Buddhist curriculum.
