For more than three decades the ground breaking work of Drs. John and Julie Gottman has revolutionized and revitalized the field of couples therapy. During this workshop you’ll learn about the central findings of Dr. John Gottman’s 35 years of research about couples intimacy, conflict and what makes relationships work.
During the course of the day you will learn how this model views healthy connections, as well as how couples become alienated … losing the very thing they most desire. We will explore how to de-escalate conflict and how to help partners rebuild the bonds they once felt so deeply. This day will feature a live session for audiences to view and learn from.
Dr. William Bumberry is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in practice for more than 25 years helping individuals and couples. Over the course of his career he has worked with many of the pioneers of the Family Therapy/Systems Therapy world including Dr. Carl Whitaker. He is co-author of Dancing with the Family: A Symbolic-Experiential Approach, A Different Kind of Caring (videotape) and Reshaping Family Relationships: The Symbolic Therapy of Carl Whitaker.
