Scaffold Safety Awareness Class: Instructor Joe Ornelas

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  

The scaffold safety awareness course is designed to give students a better understanding of the OSHA requirements of the use of scaffolding, and requirements and duties of the competent person.  The course will also discuss inspection and training elements as required by OSHA regulations. 

COURSE OUTCOMES

As a result of successfully completing this course, the student will be able to: 

 Differentiate between several types o  the most common scaffold used

• Describe overall requirements for scaffold use.
• Describe the duties of the Competent Person as described in the regulations
• Be able to spot unsafe scaffold conditions relating to foundation, footing, bracing and guarding.
• Have an understanding of  inspection requirements
• Explain the training requirements set forth for workers on scaffolding as well as those erecting the scaffold.
