Every family therapist has been exposed to the work of Murray Bowen, MD, sometime in their graduate studies.  Dr. Bowen’s study of patterns throughout the generational map of families revealed their emotional and physical impact on relationships. 

Dr. Michael Kerr will present his work along with two edited DVDs of clinical interviews on the topics below.  Dr. Kerr will use the edited DVDs to demonstrate the work of Bowen Family Systems and may do a live family interview during the day as a means of demonstrating his work.

Dr. Michael Kerr is the co-author with Murray Bowen of Family Evaluation: An Approach Based on Bowen Theory which was published by W.W. Norton & Company in 1988. He has also written many articles and book chapters related to Bowen theory and its applications. He was the founding editor of Family Systems: A Journal of Natural Systems Thinking in Psychiatry and the Sciences and served from 1994 to 2014.
