A PROJECT FOR AN AWAKENED LIFE WITH TSONY
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14 - 15, 2017
10:00 am - 12:00 pm & 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Each day with a lunch break)
We are happy to host Tsony this October, including a 2-day intensive Buddhist Studies course covering the Condensed Practice of Mind Training with the Five Forces. Following is a synopsis of the material included in the course.
Promise very firmly to adhere to enlightened mind attitude (Skt.Bodhicitta) until awakening.
Practice Bodhicitta on any occasion.
Since the biggest obstacle to Bodhicitta is selfish grasping, as soon as you encounter it, recognize it and fight it until relinquishing.
Pray for success in developing Bodhicitta, and consider and ponder over the suffering of others to develop compassion: thus, compassion will appear automatically.
Neutralize the influence of the ego and develop the Bodhicitta. Train in the five forces.
The five forces summarize the crucial points of practice and, in a single phrase, contain numerous profound key instructions for the practice of Buddha Dharma.
What to do at death
What are the instructions for the moment of death in this tradition of teaching? The Mahayana instructions for how to die are the five forces. How you act is important. When a person who has trained in this teaching is stricken by terminal illness, he or she should practice the five forces.
A Buddhist monk for over 25 years, Tsony completed two traditional 3-year retreats under the guidance of the late great meditation master Gendun Rinpoche. For 15 years he was the Abbot of Kundreul Ling Monastery in France where hundreds of Westerners have completed traditional 3-year retreats.
He has been teaching at Bodhi Path centers since 1999, many of those years under the spiritual guidance of the late 14th Shamarpa. In 2005, he began the transfer of his responsibilities at the Kundreul Ling community in order to concentrate on nurturing the growing Bodhi Path projects in Europe and the US.
In 2007, after choosing to adopt the lifestyle of a lay Dharma teacher, he left the monastic community to be fully available for his new responsibilities. Since then, Tsony has devoted his time to teaching Tibetan Buddhism and meditation practice.
In 2008 Tsony married Wendelin, a teacher and administrator in innovative education, from California.
Since 2009, following the 14th Shamarpa's advice, the couple has been living in the US at the Natural Bridge Bodhi Path center where Tsony serves as the resident teacher.

We all share a desire to be happy and free from suffering, but this goal seems to elude us much of the time. Located in San Luis Obispo, the Bodhi Path Buddhist Center welcomes everyone interested in the Buddhist path to true happiness. We provide opportunities to learn and practice meditation and to study and discuss teachings from a progressive Buddhist curriculum.
