2018 NBU Summer Camp!!!
NBU (Nothin' But U) prides itself on teaching athletes the FUNdamentals of the game, “One Skill at a Time!” Our ultimate goal is for all athletes to leave out of the gym better than when they came in the door! We believe in creating an encouraging environment where athletes will improve their basketball skills and knowledge to be the best that they can be!! So please join us for a FUNdamentally sound summer of basketball skills and drills!
The 2018 NBU Basketball Summer Camp is offered for nine (9) weeks in the gym at the The Chicago Orthepedic Sports Multiplex (COSM) located at 1301 E. 47th Street in the city of Chicago (2 blocks from Lake Shore Drive in Hyde Park).
Athletes will work on fundamental basketball skills through drills, with both individual and group workouts, and team play. The athletes are grouped according to age and skill level, and will learn the fundamentals of the game with the DR. CHIPPS method of instruction (Defense, Rebounding, Cutting, Handles, IQ, Passing, Pivoting and Shooting) with special attention to Defense, Ball Handling, and Shooting. Athletes are taught how to implement and confidently execute these skills in game play. Official scrimmages or games will be held each day at 11:00am and 2:00pm.
For the summer of 2018 the camp is offered for nine (9) weeks with full day, and half-day morning or half-day afternoon options. Full day sessions are from 9:00am to 2:30pm with options to extend the day from 8:00am to 6:00pm each day. Half-day sessions are held from 9:00am – 11:30am (Morning Session) or 12:00pm – 2:30pm (Afternoon Session). This camp is offered for nine (9) weeks from June 11 – August 10, 2018. Lunch is included with the camp fee for full day registrations (lunch is not included with half-day registrations).

The typical camp day is as follows:
8:00am - Free Throw Camp (Optional For Addtional Fee)
9:00am - Basketball Camp Morning Session
11:30am - Lunch
12:00pm - Basketball Camp Afternoon Session
2:30pm - Basketball Camp Regular Day Ends
2:30pm - Specialty Clinics (Optional For Additonal Fee)
3:00pm - NBU Skills Clinic (Optional For Additonal Fee)
4:30pm - NBU Shooting Clinic (Optional For Additonal Fee)
6:00pm - Camp Day Ends

Camp Fees
The camp fee is $300 per week per child from 9:00am to 2:30pm. There are additional camp options to extend the day to as early at 8:00am and end at 6:00pm. Payment is not required at the time of registration. However, all fees for 2018 NBU Summer Camp fees are required to be paid in full by the start of the athlete's first day of attendance. There will be a $25 transaction fee applied to your total registration fees If the camp fees are not paid in full by your child's first day of camp.
Camp Location
The 2018 NBU Summer Camp will be held at the Chicago Orthopedic Sports Multiplex (COSM) which is located at 1301 E. 47th Street two blocks west of Lake Shore Drive in Hyde Park. The COSM is a newly designed 80,000 sqaure foot facility which also houses Planet Fitness and Ace Performance Tennis. NBU will provide 2 full sized basketball courts in nearly 15,000 square feet of space.
PLEASE NOTE THE COSM IS A NEWLY DESIGNED FACTILTY AND THERE IS CURRENTLY NO VISIBLE SIGNAGE ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING OR PROPERTY. ADDTIONALLY, THE ADDRESS OF THE FACILITY IS NOT VISIBLE FROM 47TH STREET AND YOU MUST TURN INTO THE PARKING LOT TO VIEW THE ADDRESS. THE FACILITY IS LOCATED DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE SHOPPING COMPLEX WITH TJ MAXX AND BINNY'S ON 47TH STREET. THE MAIN ENTRANCE IS THE DOOR LOCATED UNDER THE GLSS AND STEEL AWNING AND THE SAME DOORS USED TO ACCESS THE BUSINESS "PLANET FITNESS".
Sibling Discount
A sibling discount of 30% is applied to each additional sibling after the camp fee for the first child is paid at 100%.
NBU Concessions
NBU operates a concession stand daily that is stocked with items for your athlete to purchase including water, Gatorade, granola bars, chips, etc. You may establish a credit account for your athlete so that he/she does not have to carry money on their person during the camp day to pay for items at the stand. We suggest you start the account with a balance of $5, $10 or $20 and you may replenish the account as needed during camp.

NBU Athletics is a year-round program that provides instruction in the fundamentals of the game of basketball to school-aged children through clinics, camps, leagues, travel teams, and personal training. During the school year (September - June), we offer the NBU Skills Clinics which are 90 minute sessions of fundamental basketball instruction which are currently offered in the evenings Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week, and on Sunday mornings.
We believe what separates good basketball players from great basketball players is fundamentals and knowledge of the game. At NBU, we teach the 7 fundamentals of basketball including, Shooting, Ball Handling, Rebounding, Passing, Pivoting, Defense, and Basketball IQ in a fun and rewarding evnviroment.
It is our pleasure to work with all students on every level whether they are a beginner or experienced in the game of basketball! At NBU, we group and instruct athletes primarily based on their skill level and not age. This allows students to work with others at the same or similar skill levels, be comforatable yet be challenged to improve their game and skill set. At NBU, it's Nothin' But U workin' on one Fundamental skill at a time to improve your knowledge and execution of the game to be the best you can be!
