Saint Paul, MN 55102
Bucket Brigade Presents:
Summer Theater Camp (for students going into Grades 5-8)
with professional writer/actor/storyteller and all-around-Theater-Doer Jeremiah Gamble!
Who: For students going into Grades 5-8
(with all levels of theater experience)
When: Monday, July 13th-17th
What (time?): From 9am-Noon
(plus 6pm-8pm for Friday's showcase performance)
Where: Art House North, 793 Armstrong Avenue, Saint Paul MN 55102
How (much?): $145 for VIRTUAL CAMP. $160 for IN-PERSON CAMP.
Students will be exploring elements of creative expression and theater through on-your-feet-exercises and improv games. They will be encouraged and equipped to freely express themselves, engage their imagination, work in an ensemble, effectively communicate physically and vocally and create a short original theater piece, in their own words, that will be performed for a public showcase Friday evening, July 17th, 7pm at Art House North.
We don't just "do theater games." We are passionate about creating new work– honestly wrestling with ideas and communicating them thoughtfully and imaginatively through art. We love inspiring students to find their voice and communicate what's in their head and heart.
The theme this year is: Light – We all need light– it shows the way, reveals hidden things, warms, comforts… Our world can feel pretty dark at times. How can we be light? Where do we see light around us? Where is light needed? What do we do in those times when the darkness feels overwhelming? It’s good to be reminded that even when it feels like things can’t get any darker, one little light can make all the difference. Students will write their thoughts about the topic, we’ll compile their thoughts and develop and perform a short theater piece in their own words.

COVID 19 SAFETY PLAN
• We are capping registration at 8 students per class. So, including instructors, the group will be a maximum of 10. (For health/safety reasons and to comply with the current state regulations)
• We will be meeting outside on the Art House lawn (weather permitting). When weather does NOT permit, we will meet in the Art House back building– it has two garage doors and a set of double doors that we will keep open to allow for maximum air flow. It’s got ample space for our group of 10 to safely distance.
• Students and teachers will maintain a safe distance during all activities.
• There will be a sanitization station.
• Restrooms and high-contact surfaces will be regularly cleaned and disinfected.
• Students will need to bring a snack from home for break time.
• Any student, or teacher who is experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, or is running a fever of over 99 degrees will not be able to join us for the in-person class.
---------------------------
VIRTUAL CAMP
• We are capping registration for virtual camp at 10 students.
• Virtual campers will be participating in the same camp, at the same time as In-Person campers. One of our two instructors will be permanently assigned to staying engaged with the Virtual Campers.
---------------------------
THE SHOWCASE/PERFORMANCE
• As of right now we are planning on a video recorded showcase that will be shared via our facebook page and Vimeo. The logistics of a live performance are a bit tricky to navigate at this time. IF we attempt any sort of live performance, it will be keeping with the most up-to-date state regulations and will err on the side of caution to keep our audience safe. BUT, please keep the live showcase performance date/time on your calendar. We are planning on using that time regardless.
---------------------------
IF YOU’RE ALREADY REGISTERED
• If you still want your student to attend In-Person Camp, then no action is necessary (and if you paid the Early Registration price, then lucky you!)
