Bucket Brigade Presents:
Summer Theater Camp (for students going into Grades 9-12)
with professional writer/actor/storyteller and all-around-Theater-Doer Jeremiah Gamble!
Who: For students going into Grades 9-12
(with all levels of theater experience)
When: Thursday, July 21st - Saturday, July 23rd
What (time?): 9am-Noon Thursday and Friday, 9am-3pm Saturday (plus 3pm-4pm for Saturday performance)
Where: Art House North, 793 Armstrong Avenue, Saint Paul MN 55102
.
How (much?): $140 for IN-PERSON CAMP. ($15 off for early registration)
Students will be exploring elements of creative expression and theater through on-your-feet-exercises and improv games. They will be encouraged and equipped to freely express themselves, engage their imagination, work in an ensemble, effectively communicate physically and vocally and create a short original theater piece, in their own words, that will be performed for a video-recorded showcase, and a live outdoor performance, Saturday afternoon, July 23rd, 7pm at Art House North.
We don't just "do theater games." We are passionate about creating new work– honestly wrestling with ideas and communicating them thoughtfully and imaginatively through art. We love inspiring students to find their voice and communicate what's in their head and heart.
The theme for Summer of 2022 is What We Share – Sure we have our differences, but right now it feels important to be reminded of all that we share. When we share our stories we get a chance to see each other and see ourselves in each other. Theater gives us a place to meet and find some common ground so we can have further conversations. Students will write their thoughts about the topic, we’ll compile their thoughts and develop and perform a short theater piece in their own words.

COVID 19 SAFETY PLAN
Because we want everyone to feel safe, cared for, and for all of us to be mindful of the most vulnerable, we are going with the same safety protocol that worked so successfully the past two summers.
We are capping registration at 12 in-person students per class. So, including instructors, the group will be a maximum of 14.
We will be meeting outside on the Art House lawn (weather permitting). When weather does NOT permit, we will meet in the Art House back building– it has two garage doors and a set of double doors that we will keep open to allow for maximum air flow. There is also the option, in the case of inclement weather, of splitting the group into two and using the upstairs and downstairs levels of the Art House to rehearse.
There will be a sanitization station.
Restrooms inside Art House North and high-contact surfaces will be regularly cleaned and disinfected.
Students will need to bring a snack from home for break time.
Any student, or teacher who is experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, or is running a fever of over 99 degrees will not be able to join us for the in-person class. N

THE SHOWCASE/PERFORMANCE
The showcase will be on the Art House back lawn. It's enough space to accommodate a small audience, so we’re limiting the attendees to each theater camper’s immediate family (Given that we will have up to 12 in-person campers, that will probably mean an audience size of about 50-60). Each family group will be seated together and safely distanced 6’+ from the other family groups on the lawn. You will need to bring your own lawn/camping chair (AND AN UMBRELLA). We’ll do a few warmups and fun exercises together first and then the students will perform their short piece. The showcase will last about 20-30 minutes.
We will also be sharing a recorded version of the showcase, and a recording of the campers singing our theme song via our facebook page and Vimeo channel so that other friends and family will be able to experience the showcase.
