"Let all our Children's children know
That this day long ago
We dreamt of them
And came aboard this Ship!"
Not many of those on the Titanic would make it to America to fulfill their dreams of a better life for their family generations to come. This American Dream has been the motivation for droves and droves of immigrants who seek a better life in America, "where the streets are paved with Gold," as once was thought.
This production of Titanic has many themes, but among them are the hopes and dreams of those who travel so far and with some much hardship in order to get a piece of the American pie.
This fundraiser aims to honor those in our past or even those of us who boarded a ship or a plane to come here for our children's children. The funds will be used for our Production of Titanic, which will be staged in October 2023.
Old Library Theatre has partnered with NOMATICS Cartography to replicate a map of the world dated as close to the legendary Titanic trip in 1912 as possible (1914). The map shows the country borders of that time and, as part of honoring those who made huge sacrifices so that we could all be there, we invite you to join our world map!
For $25 you can submit your family name or specific family members who immigrated to this country, and their place of origin will be pinpointed on our 3ft by 6ft Map along with their photograph and their date of immigration. This Map will also be available in smaller form in our Playbill.
For $15 you can submit your family name and year/date of immigration and you will receive a pinpoint on the map along with your family name listed in our "Traveler Manifest". This will appear with our 3ft by 6ft world map in the lobby as well as a mention in our playbill.
Payments can be made via this website. All pictures should be emailed to ascerqueira1022@gmail.com. Any questions or further inquiries can also be sent to ascerqueira1022@gmail.com
