2024 ANCHASL Fall Meeting and Continuing Education
The Association of North Carolina Health and Science Libraries (ANCHASL) is holding their Virtual Fall Meeting and CE class on Thursday December 12th, from 1pm-3pm EST, and the topic of the class will be on visualizing the value of researcher and institution publications. This class will offer 1.5 MLA CE credit for attendees and ANCHASL members can attend for free, while non-members can attend for $25! The class will be recorded and shared with registrants if you have a conflict on December 12th.
Julie Esparza, MLS, AHIP, FMLA, LSUHS Library Director, will teach her class “Visualizing the Value of Researcher and Institution Publications.” First, attendees will hear about the background of iCite and how it works. They will also learn about the Relative Citation Ratio used to show impact factor. Next, they will use an author name or institutional grant citations (they can bring what to search or search data will be given to them) to determine the value of the author citations or the value of the grant citations for the institution. Attendees will examine the results through the Influence, Translation and Citations that are attached to the publications. Finally, the attendees will download reports that can return to their institution to show the value of using iCite instead of pay services.
