Dr. Mitchell is a breast surgeon with a special interest in pregnancy-associated and postpartum breast cancer patients. Dr. Mitchell is an IBCLC and is actively involved in the American Society of Breast Surgeon, Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, and the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding and Lactation Education.
Dr Mitchell will talk about Benign Breast Disease and help us to understand the conditions that can occur in the breast as a result of pregancy and lactation and when to refer to a physician for management. Dr. Mitchell will review the common misconceptions of mastitis and how early support can prevent it, and understand ways nipple and breast wounds can develop during lactation.
