2025 NBU Summer Camp!!!
NBU (Nothin' But U) prides itself on teaching athletes the FUNdamentals of the game, “One Skill at a Time!” Our ultimate goal is for all athletes to leave out of the gym better than when they came in the door! We believe in creating an encouraging environment where athletes will improve their basketball skills and knowledge to be the best that they can be!! So please join us for a FUNdamentally sound summer of basketball skills and drills!
The 2025 UIC STEM 2.0 - NBU Summer Camp is offered for seven (7) weeks in the gym at the UIC Student Recreation Center which is located at 737 S. Halsted in Chicago.
Campers will work on fundamental basketball skills through drills, with both individual and group workouts, and team play. The campers are grouped primarily according to skill level, and will learn the fundamentals of the game with the DR. CHIPPS method of instruction (Defense, Rebounding, Cutting, Handles, IQ, Passing, Pivoting and Shooting) with special attention to Defense, Ball Handling, and Shooting. Campers are taught how to implement and confidently execute these skills in game play. Official scrimmages or games will be held each day at 11:00am and 2:00pm.
For the summer of 2025, the camp is offered for a total of seven (7) weeks. The regular camp day is from 9:00am to 2:30pm with an option to attend half days mornings (9:00am - 11:30am). Additonally, you may opt to extend the day beyong the regular camp day (9:00am - 2:30pm) to begin at 8:30am and complete at 4:00pm each day.
Lunch is not included with the camp fee and each camper is responsible for bringing his or her own lunch.
The NBU summer camp is offered for 7 weeks per the schedule provided below:

Camp Fees
The NBU summer camp is designed for boys and girls that are currently in the 3rd thru the 12th grade for the 2024 - 2025 school year (the registration system will require to confirm your child is in 3rd grade or higher).
The camp fee is $300 per week per child from 9:00am to 2:30pm. The fee for half day mornings (9:00am - 11:30am) or half day afternoons (12:00pm - 2:30pm) is $150 per week.
There are two (2) additional camp options avaialble to extend the camp day beginning the day at 8:30am and ending at 4:00pm each day. These two (2) options include the Free Throw Camp or Specialty Clinic (8:30am - 9:00am), and the Skills Clinic (2:30pm - 4:00pm). Each option requires an addtional fee.
You may opt to register now and pay later! Payment is not required at the time of your registration. However, all fees for 2025 NBU Summer Camp are required to be paid prior to the start of your camper's first week of attendance. There will be a $25 administrative fee applied to your total registration fees if the camp fees are not paid in full by the first day of your child(ren)'s first week of attendance at camp.

NBU Athletics is a year-round program that provides instruction in the fundamentals of the game of basketball to school-aged children through clinics, camps, leagues, travel teams, and personal training. During the school year (September - June), we offer the NBU Skills Clinics which are 90 minute sessions of fundamental basketball instruction which are currently offered in the evenings Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week, and on Sunday mornings.
We believe what separates good basketball players from great basketball players is fundamentals and knowledge of the game. At NBU, we teach the 7 fundamentals of basketball including, Shooting, Ball Handling, Rebounding, Passing, Pivoting, Defense, and Basketball IQ in a fun and rewarding evnviroment.
It is our pleasure to work with all students on every level whether they are a beginner or experienced in the game of basketball! At NBU, we group and instruct athletes primarily based on their skill level and not age. This allows students to work with others at the same or similar skill levels, be comforatable yet be challenged to improve their game and skill set. At NBU, it's Nothin' But U workin' on one Fundamental skill at a time to improve your knowledge and execution of the game to be the best you can be!
