16 Hour Wilderness First Aid
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the assessment of and treatment given to an ill person in a remote environment where rapid or immediate transport is not readily available. PMT offers the course to any scout or scouter 13 years of age and older. PMT’s is a secondary education school and staffed with instructors from a variety of backgrounds including Paramedic, Advanced EMT and Wilderness Instructors.
The Course covers a variety of modules to include:
- Patient assessment in the field
- Field triage
- Assessment and treatment by body system
- Common wilderness injuries and illnesses
- Search and Rescue
- Remote Wilderness Care
- Bleeding Control Tourniquet and Packing wounds

Priority Medical Training (PMT) provides the training and expertise for real world disasters and emergencies. We offer a variety of training for the beginner to the advanced. PMT offers American Heart Associations (AHA) certified courses on BLS, ACLS and PALS.
We instruct courses in Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), along with Tactical Combat Care (TCCC) and Tactical Emergency Care (TECC).
PMT offers the Wilderness First Aid 16 hour ECSI course for the BSA or the High Adventurer and is good for a 2 year certification.
