Introduction to Buddha Nature:
Our Potential for Wisdom, Compassion, and Happiness
Weekend Sessions with Bodhi Path Teacher Khenpo Tsering Samdup
Saturday-Sunday, August 8-9, 2026
- Saturday sessions: 10am-12noon and 2:30-4:30pm
- Sunday session: 9-11:30am

Khenpo Tsering will give an introduction to a precious text by the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje on Buddha Nature. From the Karmapa's personal realization of the nature of mind while in retreat, the book explains the ways to gain this realization, and at the same time reveals the characteristics of the core essence of the nature of mind. In other words, what is explained is how the dharmakaya state of mind lies beneath all of the chaotic emotional and confused mundane mind.
All are welcome. Reference book copies are available at the center.
Biography:
Khenpo received his education from several different Buddhist masters and scholars. Some of his close teachers were, and are, Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, Professor Sempa Dorje and Khenpo Chodrak Tenphel Rinpoche. Dharma Mitra was blessed with the title of Khenpo by both Karmapa and Shamar Rinpoche at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI).
In addition to teaching in Asia at the Shri Diwakar Vihara, Buddhist Institute of Higher Studies, in 2006, Shamar Rinpoche brought him to the US to teach at the Bodhi Path Buddhist Centers in America. Since that time, he has been one of the main teachers at KIBI as well as at the Bodhi Path centers worldwide.
