The Foundations of Dharma Practice: Motivation, Meaning, and the Path in Daily Life - A Two-Day Teaching with Trinlay Rinpoche
August 1 & 2, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am-4:00pm, with a lunch break from 12:00-2:00pm
What makes spiritual practice genuinely Dharma? In this two-day teaching, Trinlay Rinpoche will offer guidance on the essential foundations of Dharma practice, with particular emphasis on motivation, right understanding, and the inner orientation that allows practice to become a true path.
The program will explore why motivation is central in Buddhism, how students can understand the deeper purpose of practice, and how the fundamentals of the path can guide the way we meet the circumstances of daily life. Rather than approaching Dharma merely as a set of techniques or ideas, Rinpoche will guide students in reflecting on how practice becomes meaningful when it is grounded in sincere motivation, ethical awareness, mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom.
This program is suitable for both newer and experienced students who wish to clarify the foundations of practice and deepen their confidence in approaching life from the perspective of Dharma."

The Santa Barbara Bodhi Path Buddhist Center offers a high quality curriculum of instruction in Buddhist meditation practice and philosophy. The Center was founded in 1997 at the direction of Shamar Rinpoche. Since then, hundreds of students have come to learn and practice in a modern, non-sectarian environment focused on authentic Buddhist teachings taught and practiced by authentic teachers. We are a diverse community of practitioners encompassing all ages and levels of practice. Dawa Tarchin Phillips is the resident teacher, and we regularly host visiting teachers.
