Class Description: Auto Shop Safety

This focused class addresses the hazards inherent in every auto repair shop, and the protective measures that can be implemented to limit exposure to those hazards.

Students attending this class will discuss the following topics:

Hazard Communication / GHS update - to be completed by December 1, 2013

Lift and Floor Jack Hazards

Slip Trip and Falls

Confined Spaces

Chemical Safety

Fire and Flammable Liquids

Electrical Hazards

Bloodborne Pathogens (especially for auto body repair)

Driving and Fatigue

Lockout/Tagout for vehicles

As a result of attending this class students will have an enhanced awareness of hazards in their workplace and the proper controls to implement to safeguard against injury or illnesses.
