Title: Cold Stress Prevention:

 COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Cold Stress Prevention class is designed to give a better understanding of OSHA’s stand when it comes to working in cold and icy environments, as there is no specific OSHA standard for cold stress.  Students will gain insight into the various cold stress related illnesses and how to prevent them.

 COURSE OUTCOMES: 

As a result of successfully completing this course, the student will be able to:

• List the cold stress related illnesses and injuries


• Discuss the proper preventative measures to reduce the risk of cold stress


• Explain the factors that lead to cold stress


• Identify signs and symptoms of cold stress


• List preventative measures that can be taken to reduce slips trips and falls
